About Us - generation x

Generation X Youth Ministries (GX) is the Youth Ministry of Livingway Church, especially designed to impact young people. While the formation of this ministry was to directly minister to 13-19 year olds, in the last 6 years GX has grown to a thriving, mutli-cutural and mutli-generational body of believers. When you come to a Saturday night service you will find a wide range of ages...we welcome anybody, any age...it's all about Jesus.

GX is summed up in our theme scripture "1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" We believe we have been chosen by God, we believe we are royalty in Christ, we believe we are to be like Christ, we believe we are to be different then the world, we believe we are to live a life of praise for what God has done, is doing and will do. The 3 most important aspects of GX are: Praise, Prayer and Worship.

Pastors Brandon & Mandy Fender founded GX on September 18, 2004. In a short time, God has shown up in a BIG way! In just 6 years of youth ministry, hundreds of young people have received Christ and been filled with the Holy Ghost. Pastors Brandon and Mandy also believe that accepting Christ is just the first step, but that discipleship and small groups are vitally important to the growth of these young believers.

Brandon has often expressed his belief that this is not a lost generation, but rather a generation that, with the right influence, is ready to ‘explode’ on the scene as tomorrow’s leadership in both church and community. It is the desire of GX to mold all youth into productive people, effective citizens and spiritual warriors.

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

We have received great tesimonies from parents that their young people are being transformed by Christ through GX. The young people that make up this amazing ministry have incredible testimonies...we have young people who have been delivered from drugs, sex, alcoholism, depression, atheism, homosexuality, bitterness, prejudice, hatred and the list goes on and on...Jesus has definitely made a difference in hundreds of lives through this ministry.

While your young people are attending GX services and events they are surrounded by other young Spirit-filled beleivers and the greatest youth staff/leadership team in the world (check out the leadership team on the "Our Staff" page). God has blessed us with a great group of young adults in their 20's and 30's, who are not just filling a vacancy, but are called by God into youth ministry.

This youth ministry promotes spiritual maturation, educational preparation, spiritual and social independence, and most importantly, the revelation of Christ through a true personal relationship with Him.
